The First Date

When you go on a date with someone there are specific things you should or should not do and certain ways you should conduct yourself. Of course you want the person to get to know you, so, first off, you oughtn’t attempt to be someone that you are not.

When you go out on a date you ought to look clean and dress smartly. This will demonstrate to the other person, not only that you care about your the way you look, but that you also care about what they think about you. After all, If you don’t care about what the other person thinks, then you probably shouldn’t be going out on a date with them in the first place, should you?

This pointer really depends on the person you are taking out. It applies more to a man dating a woman, obviously, but some women don’t like having doors opened for them either. You will have to play it by ear. I think that the best guidance I can give, is that you should remember to open the car doors and all doors for that matter (except the washroom door) for your date, unless you are told or you sense otherwise.

A lot of younger women might say they wouldn’t judge a man by his door-opening behavior, but I think it does form a beneficial part of the overall picture she will be building up of you. However, if the woman you are going out with is an obvious feminist, then you had better let her open the doors for herself – just let her get on with it or it might upset her. She may also want to pay for her own meal, but that’s not a bad thing is it?

Make sure that you punctual. Be there when you say you will be there to pick her up and be ready to pay for the entire date. It might not come to that, she may buy a drink or two, but you can’t rely on it, so slip a credit card in your wallet too. Better safe than sorry and you don’t want to have walk home., would you?

So, that brings us conveniently to the next point, which is, don’t take your date somewhere you cannot pay for because you never want to find yourself asking your date for a loan to pay the bill, unless you don’t intend to see her again.

Another part of dating etiquette also relates to not making the other person feel as if they are at an interview. It is all too common for people on a date to ask too many questions because they want to get to know the other person quickly. However, how would you feel, if you were asked twenty questions between every course or drink? It is well-intentioned, but irritating. It is far better to have, say, five or six interesting, non-personal questions that you can discuss at more length.

If you push them too far, if you get too personal too quickly, you might scare them off. Just try to create a relaxing atmosphere by being considerate and yourself.

Wedding Gift Ideas To Win Hearts

The occasion of a wedding is a very special day for everyone. Just being asked to one can cause real exhilaration. It is always a pleasure to see someone walk down the aisle with the promise of true love and life long happiness. choosing a wedding present can be a lot of fun as well. There are thousands of gifts that you can purchase online or in retail shops.

Personalized gifts is a common trend in weddings presents. Bespoke gifts bring out your creativity because you can determine the style, design and message you want to be printed on them. Products range from photo frames, mugs and clocks, among many others.

When buying presents, always keep in mind your budget but be sure to get the look you want on the goods you buy. Here are some gift ideas that would definitely be a hit:

Tapestry – It is lovely to remember the wedding day, but how best to do this? Personalize everyday belongings by printing the couple’s picture on them. You can have it printed on pillows, blankets or bags.

Have them printed on a tapestry wall hanging and they can be kept as heirlooms. Different coloured cotton threads can make your pictures come to life just like the photo itself.

Photo Frames – Keep your best photographs in unique photo frames. You can add romantic messages like ‘lovers forever” or “ideal couple”. Romantic lines from songs or poems are recommended too. You can choose from the various frames obtainable like natural wood, quality resin, or metal steel.

Personal messages are mostly engraved by laser or cut out of wood. The couple would love putting there favorite wedding photos in such frames to remind them of the bliss of their auspicious day.

T-shirts – Show your own personality and feelings by having them printed on comfortable tees. Many couples would love to demonstrate their love for each other on cute shirts. The most common of the slogans on these shirts is the letter “I” followed by a big red heart and then name of the groom or bride.

You could tell the world how you feel towards a person with such a bespoke tee. If you want to be more intimate, you could even print romantic messages on lingerie or underwear.

Accessories – Women love accessories. Bracelets are ideal items for personalization. You could choose sterling silver or even 9 carat – 22 carat gold. This depends on your finances, of course. But remember, it is the thought that counts.

Common themes that are put on bracelets are the date of your wedding or your anniversary or the couple’s name. You can personalize rings and necklaces in the same way too.

Tankards – Tankards are very useful. If you are giving a gift to the groom, customizing his beer mug or wine glass would definitely be appreciated. Choose a beer mug that is not embarrassing. Pewter or glass look nice and the personal message would stand out clearly.

Clocks – You could buy a wall clock or personal watches. Either way, you can be assured that the recipient would find them very useful. Engraving one’s name on a metal steel sports watch is an eye catcher too. A pocket watch would be equally valued.

Looking for wedding gifts can be very enjoyable. Personalizing your gifts would add a special touch to each present. No matter the value of the gift, remember that it is always the thought that matters most.

Chocolate Candy For Lovers

Chocolate candy must be the most popular sort of candy in the world. It certainly is in Europe and America. We eat tons and tons of Mars, Cadburys, Lindt and Nestle chocolate candy every year. The depressing thing is that most of the people who admit to liking chocolate have never tasted a decent bar of chocolate in their lives.

To a connoisseur, chocolate candy can come from anywhere in the world although Belgium, Switzerland and France are the countries, whose names come to mind first. Regardless of that, good chocolate candy is also manufactured in Great Britain, Spain, the USA and some parts of Latin America.

This is not unanticipated as chocolate first made its debut among the Mayans of Central America in at least 300 BC and maybe even as far back as 3000 BC. In 300 AD it was a special drink reserved for royalty and was very bitter. It was so special that it had to be drunk from a golden chalice and that chalice could be used for that intention only one time.

In those days, many more herbs and spices were added to the royal drink called xocoatl. It was also a lot purer in terms of cacao content than practically anything you can buy on the shelves in the supermarket today as well. The closest we have to that purity is gourmet chocolate.

Gourmet chocolate will usually have been manufactured by a chocolatier, which is similar to what a chef is to cuisine. These manufacturers of chocolate candy are the best in the world, highly skilled and head-hunted by the best chocolate makers. They can demand large salaries and become world famous among the aficionados of fine chocolate candy.

Fine chocolate candy must have a high chocolate content. That sounds as if it should go without saying, doesn’t it? However, to be called chocolate in the US, candy only has to contain 15% actual chocolate and ‘bakers’ chocolate’ frequently does not contain any at all. In Europe that figure is 35%, which is why most Americans think that European chocolate candy is sumptuous.

Good chocolate candy should break cleanly with an audible ’snap’ and should have a shiny surface. The chocolate candy most liable to have a high cacao content is dark chocolate, which is also often slightly bitter, evocative of the actual taste of cacao before most manufacturers put sugar into the mixture. Purer chocolate candy also melts on the tongue and produces a mild feeling of well-being.

Purer forms of chocolate candy have had a variety of reputations over the centuries. It has the reputation of being a pick-me-up and had the reputation of being an aphrodisiac, probably for the same reason. This is due to a chemical naturally present in the bean called Theobromine. Theobromine has effects on other animals too. For example, it is a proscribed substance for racing horse because it has an huge effect on horses and chocolate should never be given to cats or dogs because it is poisonous to them.

Theobromine and another chemical present, phenethylamine, have been associated with the production of seratonin, which is stimulated by prescribed drugs to ward off depression.

Valentine’s Day For Single Young Women

Some people do not like being alone on St. Valentine’s Day. Younger women in particular consider that being alone on St. Valentine’s Day carries a stigma, which makes them feel dejected and lonely. But just because someone is not in a relationship, it does not mean they cannot have a good time. I will give a couple of suggestions below to help you have a time to remember.

1] Call up all your single girlfriends and go dancing. Many young men like to dance every now and again or to their favourite songs, but they do not want to dance non-stop. On the other hand, young women often do like to dance non-stop, so you may have a better time without a boyfriend in a club.

2] Another good idea for single girls on Valentine’s Day is to give a movie night at your home. You could invite over all of your single friends and hire a few comedies. Instead of being gloomy and miserable, you and your friends can watch the movies and take the rise out of the characters in the film.

Hire a few horror movies too for an extra special night. Lots of young people like horror films. They like to have a scream and hide their faces behind their friends’ backs. Treat the evening like a proper night at the movies and get popcorn, snacks, ice cream and cola, etc in.

3] You could hold a singles party. Invite all of your single friends and tell them they have to bring a friend of the opposite sex. Buy or borrow some of those games that make you answer personal questions like ‘Forfeits’ and ‘Twister’, where you have to put your hands and feet on different coloured spots on a plastic mat.

‘Mr and Mrs’ is another game where you ask one half of a ‘couple’ questions about the other in his absence. He has to corroborate the replies when he is invited back into the room. The answers could be side-splitting, because the contestants will not know each other well.

3] Hire a table in a non-romantic restaurant and get eight or more girlfriends to go out for a meal. Once the atmosphere begins building, things can become great fun and you could go dancing later.

4] You could arrange a visit to the theatre and have a meal afterwards. Most people do not go to the theatre every year, so going with your friends on St. Valentine’s Day would make the day truly unforgettable.

5] You could make up a basket of your favourite things. Include some really special items like gourmet chocolate or other gourmet candy. Get something luxurious to drink that is appropriate to your age. Then you can pig out on your favourite foods and drink and watch a few films on your own or with your sister or other family member like a favourite cousin.

There are many things you can do to enjoy Valentine’s Day as a single girl, there’s no need to mope around feeling sorry for yourself at all.

What Is A Rose Saying To You?

More roses are sold in the few days before St. Valentine’s Day than in any other comparable period in the year. Until not so long ago, people were aware of the significance of the colours of roses (I am pretty sure that it did not apply to other flowers too).

For instance, it would have been a serious faux pas to give a young teenage girl a red rose, but not a pink or a yellow one. All the colours had a meaning. However, it is a bit like reading Tarot cards, not everyone agrees on those significances.

Anyway, out of interest and to keep the tradition going, I will give you the commonly accepted meanings of the colours of roses hereunder.

‘My love is like a red, red rose’, so goes the poem and when most people think of a rose, the first colour that probably comes to mind is red and, in fact, the word ?rose? comes from the Latin word ?rosa?, which means red.

It is also true that red roses are the most common and the most bought colour, but there are so many other colours that there is a whole lexicon of meanings that can be expressed with them.

Here are some colours and their implication:

Red – Love, romance, beauty, obsession, yearning and respect

Burgundy – Unwitting loveliness

Red but withered – Our love is over

White – Purity, youth, pure love and virginal innocence

Pink – Happiness, admiration, gratitude and charm

Dark Pink – Gratitude or thank you

Yellow – Happiness, gladness, companionship, pleasure or platonic love

Yellow with Red Tip – Falling in Love

Orange – Fascination, desire, or enthusiasm

Red and White – (a bouquet of roses of two colours) – Passionate wholesomeness or unity

Peach – Sincerity, gratitude, indebtedness, modesty, admiration, or sympathy

Lavender – Love at first sight or enchantment

Black – Death or our love is over

Blue – Unfeasible, unachievable or secrecy

Red Rosebud – Symbol of purity and loveliness

White Rosebud – Girlhood or youth

Thornless Rose – “Love at First Sight”

Single Rose – Straightforwardness

Two Roses – An engagement or impending marriage

Rose Leaves – Sign of hope

Roses – Sent every month – loveliness ever renewed

Regrettably, there no true black or blue roses in nature, as the pigment structures in the rose do not permit these colours to be developed, although it has not prevented gardeners trying for hundreds of years. However, there are some very dark purple roses, which are used in place of black roses. There are also some very pale lavender roses that seem to be blue, but have a shade of pink in them. Traditionally, blue roses are usually white roses dyed.

No matter what you want to express with your flowers, a bouquet of roses can articulate your emotions. So next time you give a bunch of roses, why not try to convey what you want to say by choosing the colours carefully. The recipient probably will not comprehend these day, but you could send them a copy of this article or have fun explaining the meaning to them over a bottle of wine.

How To Choose The Perfect Romantic Present

There are not many things in the world more nerve-racking than trying to finish all of your Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. After struggling through the crowds to pick through the sparse odds and ends that are left in tens of stores for the ideal present, eventually settling for a gift that is “good enough”, and then waiting in line for an hour in an attempt to pay for that present even a root canal job may seem preferable; after all, at least they anesthetize for that!

However, because of the busy agenda of individuals today, it is becoming increasingly difficult for individuals to get things done ahead of the Christmas rush. After all, shops have established hours which in general inconveniently coincide with the hours that most of the world’s population has to be at work. (More than one individual has suggested that this is not, in fact, a fluke).

Deliberate or not, it is difficult for many people to do their shopping in a bricks-and-mortar shop. Because of this, virtual stores are on the rise as people enjoy the power to do their shopping at any hour of the day or night from the relative comfort of their own homes.

Shopping on the Worldwide web does not, however, eliminate one of the most critical problems facing Christmas shoppers, that is, deciding what the should buy. For years the jewellery industry has been doing its level best to provide shoppers with an opportunity to pick a romantic present for that special individuals in their life, say, a ring, a necklace, a bracelet, a brooch or a tie pin. It seems as though there is always something for everybody in the world of jewelry, no matter what the individual or their character.

However, giving the same gifts year after year can grow very monotonous and jewelry stores have to constantly fight to stay on top of the market. They are constantly coming up with trendy new products to draw in customers and they have done it again with the advent of silver card pendants.

Silver card pendants are pendants that attach to a card and can be worn as a necklace by the person who received them as a gift. That sounds effortless enough, does it not? The best thing is that without thought of who you are shopping for, there is a silver card pendant that is fitting for the occasion! Is your wife’s birthday coming up? Buy her a pendant with a romantic heart on it . Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and you have not even begun to think about what you are going to buy your beloved?

Buy her a pendant that says “With All My Love Always” and send it with a card. Is your partner a new mum? Why not get her a pendant that permits her to slide in a photo of your new bundle of joy and take him or her with her wherever she goes?

As you can tell, no matter what the occasion, a silver card pendant makes the perfect present. They can be purchased from almost any online specialty retailer; you only have to do a search.

How To Ask Someone Out On A Date

All right, no more procrastinating, this is the time you have been dreaming of and it’s up to you to turn it into reality. But, how can you get that dream date? You have to start from the beginning and that means to invite the person you are interested in out. Well, how ought you to invite a person out? Do you have to be assertive? Do you have to be coy? Perhaps you could do with a few tips to ask someone out?

The following are quite simple but yet essential tips you can use when you find it difficult inviting a someone out on a date. These tips are great when you want to ask out the person you fancy. Firstly, know the right reason or reasons for asking a person out. When you know the real reason(s), the right words will surely come to you.

What if the person says no? Well, don’t take a refusal to heart and certainly don’t expect it. Take it gracefully and maybe even have a light-hearted, self-effacing joke ready for the occasion. However, for some people, it might be worth practising the words you want to say. To achieve this, try to keep the reasons for the date upper most in your mind.

However, the person may say “yes” and then you ought to have ideas about where to go, otherwise it looks as if you have not put much thought into it. As far as you can, be ready with some ideas. See to it that you have an answer, if the person asks you why you are asking her out. You do not have to over-flatter, but you have to make sure that you make the person feel good. In this way, you can show how thoughtful you are, but never pressure anyone to date you.

If you did, the result would almost certainly be unpleasant. And don’t pressure anyone to tell you why the answer is no. Furthermore, never stand someone up. This means that when you ask a person out, you should mean it and you do not leave her waiting for nothing. If the person says no, do not get angry about it. You just have to move on and not treat that person badly. Having some alcohol to boost your confidence is definitely not a good idea.

It may just put you in a worse situation. You have to be naturally confident. The more, the better, but not on the first date. When you want to ask a person for a date, do not do it when she is with a circle of friends.

These are really useful tips and you ought to take note of them. They will definitely help you out when you want to go out with that special person.
